Hydraulic stabilizers
What are fin stabilizers?
Fin stabilizers are fins mounted beneath the waterline of a yacht which are installed on both sides of the vessel at a downward angle.
VETUS stabilizer fins are computer controlled and have the ability to change their angle via a hydraulic system to counteract roll caused by waves or wind.
- “Plug-and-Play” installation for steel, GPR and aluminum vessels
- Greatly reduces pitch and roll
- Available as a stand alone system
- Easy to install in an existing hydraulic system
- Automatic centering
- Fully automatic operation
- The fin movement is automatically adjusted according to the degree of damping selected, the speed of the vessel and the sea state
- All electronic components are solid-state
- Also suitable for refit projects
Installation options
- Available as a stand-alone system
- Connected to a belt driven hydraulic pump with bearing support and pulley, or;
- Connected to a hydraulic pump fitted to an SAE-A PTO on the engine or gearbox
Our stabilizers are also easy to integrate into existing systems by adding a VETUS hydraulic control unit (HT1024) between the current hydraulic system and the VETUS stabilizers
